SerpApi Shares Insights on How Open Access to Public Data Supports Ethical AI Development
SerpApi, based in the U.S., delivers instant organized data from public search results; it claims free access to this information which plays a key role in building AI tools. With worldwide interest growing in dependable data use, the firm points out that clear, checkable sources can boost trust in automated content systems.
SerpApi, founded in 2017 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, provides developers, businesses, and researchers with a unified API that delivers structured results from major search engines including Google, Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, and Yandex. The company processes millions of API requests daily and is used across industries focused on automation, analytics, and AI-driven research. SerpApi said its mission is to ensure reliable, real-time access to public information so that AI systems can be built on transparent, reproducible data.
Rising Need for Transparent Data in AI Systems
As organizations adopt generative AI tools at scale, industry analysts highlight the importance of traceable and verifiable training data; for example, the global AI infrastructure market is expected to grow from about $35 billion in 2023 to $223 billion by 2030, citing rapid demand for real-time, public data-feeds.
Publicly accessible search-engine results are among the largest sources of real-time signals about online content and global information flows, a trend that mirrors the surge in AI-infrastructure investment globally. SerpApi said structured access to this type of data enables developers to build AI systems that reflect up-to-date public knowledge while maintaining visibility into the source of the information used.
“Our work is guided by a simple principle: public search data should be accessible,” said Julien Khaleghy, founder and CEO of SerpApi. According to SerpApi, modern language models are effective at synthesis but do not inherently provide fresh, verifiable information, which is why structured access to public data is increasingly important for transparency in AI systems.
Data Infrastructure Behind AI and Search-Powered Tools
SerpApi acts as a data infrastructure platform for a broad range of applications, from business intelligence systems and automation workflows to AI agents, search-powered assistants, and research tools. By delivering real-time structured results in JSON format, the API supports use cases where accuracy, speed, and reproducibility of data collection are essential.
The company noted that developers building LLM applications, RAG systems, and research agents rely on SerpApi to access real-time, verifiable search results. SerpApi’s support for more than 50 specialized APIs and its global coverage across localized markets allow developers to gather public information at scale without maintaining complex scraping infrastructure.
According to SerpApi’s published benchmark data, the company reports an average API response time of approximately 0.73 seconds. SerpApi also provides a 99.95% service-level agreement (SLA) for all plans, which includes a 100% penalty clause and service credits of up to the full monthly plan price if uptime falls below the guaranteed threshold. The company said this level of reliability is important for AI applications that require constant and predictable access to external data sources.
Ethical Access to Public Information
SerpApi emphasized that its data pipeline is designed for public information only. The company said it adheres to industry practices that respect public data boundaries, does not store personal information beyond what is technically required for processing, and implements encryption standards for secure data handling.
Its approach aligns with broader discussions in the AI community about ensuring that training datasets and real-time inputs reflect sources that are publicly accessible and that the process of collecting them is transparent and auditable. SerpApi said it aims to support developers, researchers, and organizations who prioritize ethical data workflows and require consistent visibility into the origins of information used in AI models.
Growing Demand From AI Builders and Research Communities
The rise of generative AI has created new demand for structured, query-ready data. SerpApi said its customers use the API to automate information-gathering tasks, build market intelligence dashboards, power academic studies, and integrate real-time search results into machine-learning pipelines. Developers building LLM-powered tools have increasingly adopted structured search data to improve accuracy in question-answering, fact retrieval, and analysis tasks.
Use cases outlined by the company include AI agents that require up-to-date public information, search-driven chatbots that respond with verifiable data, and data-processing systems that rely on high-frequency inputs from global search engines. SerpApi’s documentation highlights examples across marketing analytics, academic research, automation tools, and AI development workflows.
Continuous Product Development
Over the past year, SerpApi has expanded support for additional search endpoints, improved parsing accuracy, and added enhancements to its data extraction and regional targeting capabilities. The company continues to update its APIs to maintain compatibility with evolving search engine structures and to support developers building real-time intelligence solutions.
SerpApi provides more than 50 specialized APIs, including Google Search, Google Images, Google News, Bing Search, Baidu, and others, allowing developers to integrate structured public information into dashboards, reporting tools, AI models, and automation systems.

Carolindica Responds to Federal Hemp Ban, Pledges to Fight for Consumer Choice and Small Business Survival
Carolindica, a North Carolina-based hemp industry leader of high-quality hemp-derived wellness products, today expressed deep disappointment in Congress’s last-minute decision to include a full ban on hemp-derived wellness products within the recently passed federal funding bill. The company says the action threatens hundreds of thousands of American jobs, harms small businesses nationwide, and removes safe options that millions of consumers rely on these products for wellness, sleep, stress support, and healthier alternatives to recreation and general wellness.
The ban, inserted without public debate or industry consultation, would effectively eliminate nearly all hemp-derived THC beverages, edibles, and wellness products from the market. Carolindica believes this decision ignores both consumer demand and real-world evidence that prohibition only pushes products into illicit, unregulated markets.
“Americans deserve the right to choose the products that work for them,” said Chris Karazin, CEO and founder of Carolindica. “This ban does not protect anyone. It removes regulated, lab-tested products from responsible businesses like ours and hands consumers back over to illicit markets. We know from history that prohibition doesn’t make people safer. It only drives them to buy from unregulated sources. We won’t accept that outcome.”
Despite the uncertainty, Carolindica has no plans to scale back operations. The company will continue offering its current lineup of high-quality, lab-tested hemp products while also preparing to introduce several new compliant items. Carolindica is doubling down on its commitment to consumers, employees, and retailers nationwide.
The company is also launching a national petition urging lawmakers to reverse the ban before it takes effect. Carolindica believes widespread public pressure will be essential, noting that many legal cannabis operators have publicly opposed the ban as well, calling it a loss for the entire industry.
“People across the country are already speaking out,” Karazin added. “Consumers, veterans, patients, parents, small businesses, and even major cannabis companies all agree that banning hemp is the wrong approach. We have less than a year to make our voices heard, and we’re asking everyone who cares about safe access and personal freedom to join us.”
Carolindica encourages supporters to sign the petition and contact their elected officials to oppose the ban. Learn more here at carolindica.com/protect-hemp/.

Shaping Tomorrow’s Microchips: 3M Materials-Science Innovations in Semiconductor Manufacturing
From smartphones to data centers, semiconductors sit at the core of modern life. Now, with the exponential growth in artificial intelligence (AI) applications, high-performance computing and advanced memory are driving a new wave of demand for semiconductor chips — and stretching the limits of traditional manufacturing processes in semiconductor fabrication facilities, also called “fabs.”
Industry groups project global wafer-fabrication equipment spending will set new records in 2025 as manufacturers add capacity to support AI and advanced packaging, like those driven by the latest chip designs. In addition to industry-leading trends like chiplets, hybrid bonding, and 3D integration, technologies like silicon photonics and co-packaged optics (CPOs) will reshape how chips are interconnected, driving new requirements for yield, flatness, and thermal stability. Meeting these needs requires not just new tools, but also new materials that can improve efficiency, reduce waste, and shorten time-to-yield.
“3M collaborates and innovates with our customers and eco-system partners to push the boundaries of materials science to help them unlock new efficiencies across the fab,” said Lung Lin, vice president of 3M Display and Electronics. “From cleaner, flatter surfaces for next-generation interconnects, to smarter thermal solutions, our innovations are designed to help improve process stability and deliver efficiency. And as new technologies like silicon photonics and co-packaged optics emerge, we’re ready to help our customers integrate them with confidence.”
Materials that enable efficiency across the fab
For decades, 3M has partnered with semiconductor manufacturers to deliver advanced materials that support cleaner processes, higher yields, and greater throughput. Today, our portfolio spans multiple stages of wafer manufacturing:
- CMP materials (pads, and composite systems): Enable precise planarization — these polishing materials smooth each wafer layer so the next one can be built on a perfectly flat surface.
- Pad conditioners: Maintain pad performance and uniformity — these pads act like “refreshening” tools to keep polishing pads effective, making sure that wafers are polished evenly.
- Wafer support systems including bonding and protective tapes: Support wafer thinning, handling, and backside processing — these tapes hold wafers securely during processing, then the tapes remove easily
- Heat-resistant tapes: Safeguards sensitive parts of the chip through soldering, molding, and high-temperature processing.
Each of these solutions reflects 3M’s ability to apply deep expertise in abrasives, adhesives, and thermal management to some of the most complex manufacturing environments in the world.
Aligning with industry trends
Global shifts are reinforcing the need for advanced semiconductor materials:
- AI and packaging growth: As AI chips get larger and pull in more memory, the connections between different parts of the chips need to be ultra-precise, requiring extremely flat, clean, and bondable wafer surfaces that fit and work together reliably.
- 3D integration and chiplets: Instead of just making chips smaller, manufacturers are stacking them and linking smaller chiplets together, driving new approaches to stacking and interconnecting. Materials that support precision bonding and stable wafer handling are increasingly critical.
- Silicon photonics and co-packaged optics: Integrating optical and electronic components into the same package will redefine how chips communicate, and 3M can apply its expertise in bonding, thermal management, and precision handling as technology advances.
From wafer to workload
As the semiconductor industry scales to meet AI demand, efficiency gains at the fab level ripple outward. Materials that extend pad life, stabilize thermal performance, and enable reliable wafer handling not only save time and resources in production, they also help speed the availability of next-generation chips.
At the same time, AI’s rapid adoption is fueling new energy demands downstream. The International Energy Agency projects that global data center electricity use could more than double by 2030, with AI noted as a leading driver. That’s why 3M’s broader energy solutions, including sensored cable accessories, and optical interconnects — complement our semiconductor offerings. Together, they support a more sustainable digital infrastructure, from the wafer fabrication to the data center.
3M is committed to advancing the semiconductor industry through materials innovation. By enabling efficiency, improving reliability, and supporting environmental goals, we help manufacturers meet the needs of today’s AI-driven era — and prepare for the technologies still to come.

Arrest of Hartgrove Hospital Staff Member Marks Breakthrough in Sexual Abuse Lawsuit
Following an investigation by the Chicago Police Department (COD), the Cook County State's Attorney's Office (CCSAO) filed felony counts of sexual assault against a former mental health counselor at Hartgrove Behavioral Health Hospital, Edmond Rivers, in connection with the repeated sexual abuse of child patients under his care. Rivers is the central figure in four consolidated lawsuits scheduled for trial in February 2026, all filed by Gould Grieco & Hensley, PLLC (GGH).
“This is a long overdue and critical step toward justice for all the survivors who have lived for years with the trauma inflicted upon them by someone they were told they could trust,” said Martin D. Gould, founding partner of GGH. “Edmond Rivers' arrest confirms what our clients and our investigations have been saying for years: that abuse at Hartgrove was not only widespread, but criminal.”
"We appreciate the Cook County State's Attorney's Office for filing charges that acknowledge the criminal nature of this abuse, and we remain committed to pursuing civil accountability for the institutions that enabled it," said Gould.
Rivers’ arrest marks a significant development in the growing legal and public reckoning facing Universal Health Services (UHS), the for-profit parent company that owned, managed and operated Hartgrove Hospital. GGH represents hundreds of former Hartgrove patients who allege they were sexually abused while residing and receiving treatment at Hartgrove Hospital. These include numerous lawsuits pending in litigation, with incidents ranging from the late 1990s through as recently as 2024.
The criminal case against Rivers adds weight to the mounting civil litigation against UHS. In one of the first filed cases, one plaintiff alleges as a child he was raped by male staff — including Rivers — in various areas of the hospital and forced to engage in sexual acts with other minor patients. Several survivors state reports of abuse were either ignored or punished by facility leadership.
“This arrest is just the beginning,” said Mike Grieco, founding partner of GGH. “We believe Rivers operated within an environment that not only tolerated abuse but actively enabled it. That makes Hartgrove and UHS just as accountable.”
The arrest follows a string of damning revelations and legal judgments against UHS, including:
- A $360 million jury verdict involving UHS’s Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents
- A $535 million judgment this spring related to abuse at the Pavilion Behavioral Health System
- A $122 million federal settlement in 2020 over improper patient care practices
- A 2010 University of Illinois-Chicago report finding Hartgrove guilty of “systemic failures” in protecting children
- Ongoing Senate investigations and federal scrutiny of UHS youth facilities
Despite these repeated warnings and legal challenges, UHS has continued to expand, with Hartgrove Hospital currently pursuing a $20 million expansion plan to increase capacity to more than 200 beds — raising renewed concerns about patient safety.
GGH founding partners Martin Gould, Michael Grieco, and Bryce Hensley are leading the litigation team handling these cases and urge any additional survivors or witnesses to come forward.
“This arrest validates what so many survivors have risked so much to share,” said Bryce Hensley, GGH founding partner. “But one arrest is not justice. It’s a start. And we will not stop until every responsible party is held accountable.”
Survivors or family members with information related to abuse at Hartgrove Hospital or other UHS facilities are encouraged to contact Gould Grieco & Hensley, PLLC at www.gghlaw.com to discuss their legal rights and options.

Federation of Catholic Teachers (FCT) Launches 'Work to Rule,' Forms Alliance of Parents and Teachers, and Prepares Major Rally as Collective Bargaining Tensions Rise
The Federation of Catholic Teachers (FCT), representing nearly 3,200 educators, including aides and teacher assistants, across 87 Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of New York (ADNY), has launched a “Work To Rule” job action in response to the Archdiocese’s proposed Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which would increase teachers’ out-of-pocket healthcare costs between 500% and 1,000%, while offering only a 2% annual raise for each of the next three years.
Teachers warn that ADNY’s proposal would make healthcare financially unsustainable for the people who carry out the mission of Catholic education every day.
Rapid Employer Concession Shows the Power of Work to Rule
Within days of instituting Work To Rule — requiring teachers to perform exactly and only the duties specified in the CBA — the Archdiocese issued a counter-proposal to phase in the healthcare cap increases over three years.
While the concession acknowledges the pressure generated by Work To Rule, the FCT stresses this revised cap remains unacceptable:
“Increasing caps by 500% to 1,000% — even phased in — is neither fair, reasonable, nor financially viable,” said Leanne Cole, FCT's president. “It reflects just how much unpaid labor our teachers pour into their schools every single day. If we hadn’t been going above and beyond for years, Work To Rule would not have generated such an immediate response.”
FCT leadership continues urging the Archdiocese to engage in good-faith bargaining, noting repeated concerns raised by teachers over the course of negotiations. The action’s effectiveness has already led other schools outside the ACS group to explore Work To Rule as a strategy in their own negotiations.
Parents Mobilize: FCT Launches the New “Alliance of Parents and Teachers”
For the first time in its nearly 60-year history, the FCT is receiving an unprecedented volume of outreach over the last several months from parents, legislators, parishioners, and community leaders (from parents) expressing concern about the future of Catholic schools.
In response, the FCT has been forming the Alliance of Parents and Teachers, dedicated to:
- Strengthening Catholic schools: Identifying system shortcomings, proposing solutions, and working in true partnership with ADNY to build a more stable and thriving school system.
- Presenting a united front: Advocating for fair wages, affordable healthcare, adequate staffing, and student resources — while reducing unnecessary Catholic school closures and mergers.
- Correcting misinformation: Providing accurate information about school finances, teacher compensation, enrollment patterns, and the need for improved outreach to increase enrollment.
“Parents are seeing the strain first-hand, and they want transparency, stability, and fairness,” said Teresa Clarke, FCT's vice president. “This alliance is about uniting the people who care most about Catholic education: the teachers who dedicate their lives to it, and the families who depend on it.”
Upcoming Rally to Unite Teachers, Parents, and Communities
The FCT is organizing a public rally in New York City to bring together educators, parents, alumni, and supporters from across the Archdiocese. The rally will call for:
- Fair and good-faith bargaining
- Affordable, sustainable healthcare
- Stronger investment in Catholic education
- An end to the cycle of school mergers and closures
Details about the rally’s date, location, and speakers will be announced shortly.
FCT Preparing to File Unfair Labor Practice Charge
The FCT is preparing to file an Unfair Labor Practice charge with the New York State Public Employment Relations Board (PERB), asserting that the Archdiocese has failed to bargain in good faith during negotiations.
“We remain committed to protecting Catholic education for generations to come,” said Cole. “But we cannot do that if the people educating our children cannot afford to take their own children to the doctor.”
About Federation of Catholic Teachers (FCT)
Founded in 1968, the Federation of Catholic Teachers represents nearly 3,200 educators, school aides, paraprofessionals, teachers’ aides, and assistants across 87 Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of New York. For more than five decades, the FCT has worked to ensure fair working conditions, professional dignity, and high-quality education rooted in Catholic values. For more information, visit fct153.com.

Steinberg Law Firm Resolves I-26 Truck Crash Lawsuit with $1.15 Million Settlement in Orangeburg County
Steinberg Law Firm of Summerville, South Carolina, has announced the resolution of a truck accident lawsuit in Orangeburg County, with a settlement totaling $1,150,000. The case involved a commercial truck’s alleged improper lane change on Interstate 26, resulting in significant injuries to a local woman.
The incident occurred while the plaintiff was traveling eastbound on I-26. A semi-truck began moving into the plaintiff’s lane without yielding, forcing the plaintiff’s vehicle off the roadway and into a ditch. The plaintiff sought immediate medical attention, and subsequent evaluations revealed orthopedic and neurological injuries.
The plaintiff’s legal team, attorneys Steven Goldberg and Wilson Jackson of Steinberg Law Firm filed the lawsuit in Orangeburg County after negotiations with the commercial vehicle's insurance provider failed to yield what the attorneys deemed fair compensation for the victim’s injuries and property damage. “The crash significantly impacted our client’s life,” said Goldberg. “We felt it was necessary to pursue litigation to ensure her rights were protected.”
Truck accidents remain a concern on major highways throughout South Carolina, with I-26 identified in state safety reports as a corridor with a high frequency of incidents involving commercial vehicles. The South Carolina Department of Public Safety has previously reported that lane change errors are a common contributing factor in such collisions.
“The physical and emotional toll of these accidents is significant,” said Jackson. “We are proud to secure this settlement on behalf of our client. No one deserves to face life-changing injuries after a truck accident.” The settlement covers medical expenses, anticipated future care, and property loss.
The lawsuit highlights the challenges faced by accident victims when dealing with large trucking companies and their insurers. Steinberg Law Firm which has represented injury victims across the Lowcountry since 1927, stated that each case is unique and outcomes depend on the specific facts and circumstances of each legal matter.

NANO Nuclear Energy Chairman Jay Yu Advances Microreactor Development Through Strategic Partnerships and Global Energy Leadership
Jay Yu, founder, chairman, and president of NANO Nuclear Energy Inc. (Nasdaq: NNE), is positioning the advanced nuclear technology company for eventual commercial deployment through a strategic combination of institutional partnerships, customer acquisition, and global energy sector engagement. Recent announcements highlight the company's progression from technology development to market validation, with potential multi-reactor deployments under consideration and executive participation at premier international energy conferences.
University of Illinois Prototype Project Attracts Commercial Interest
On October 24, 2025, Nano Nuclear celebrated a milestone event at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign commemorating the start of site-characterization drilling for its KRONOS MMR Energy System prototype project. The event, held through The Grainger College of Engineering, featured a significant commercial announcement from prospective customer BaRupOn LLC regarding plans to pursue a feasibility study for deploying up to 15 KRONOS MMR reactors at a 700-acre advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence data center project under development near Houston, Texas.
Yu emphasized the accelerated trajectory for the KRONOS MMR prototype, attributing this momentum to the technology's high readiness level as a well-established high-temperature gas-cooled reactor design. He noted the estimated $120 million and nearly a decade of research and development invested by the prior developer into the KRONOS MMR design, along with its advancement through U.S. and Canadian licensing processes. Yu also highlighted Nano Nuclear's capital markets achievements, having raised over $600 million since May 2024 at increasing valuations, demonstrating institutional shareholder confidence in the company's technical approach and commercial strategy.
The KRONOS MMR prototype project reflects strong backing from multiple stakeholders, including the University of Illinois, the state of Illinois, federal policymakers, local community leaders, and strategic commercial collaborators. This institutional support framework provides Nano Nuclear with the regulatory and political foundations necessary for advancing microreactor technology toward commercial deployment.
Technical Design Features Enable Diverse Market Applications
Chief technology officer Dr. Florent Heidet provided comprehensive technical details regarding the KRONOS MMR's design architecture and safety characteristics during the University of Illinois event. The high-temperature gas-cooled reactor utilizes established materials and fuel technology, including helium coolant and TRISO fuel. The system has been engineered for passive safety features and zero-mile emergency planning zones, enabling the reactor to be co-located safely on university campuses and other populated areas.
The modular scalability of the KRONOS MMR represents a key commercial differentiator, with applications ranging from single-unit installations to gigawatt-scale clusters serving data centers and industrial facilities. This scalability enables phased deployment strategies that can adapt to customer power requirements while potentially achieving economies of scale as production volumes increase. The University of Illinois prototype will be constructed to the same engineering standards as future commercial reactors, providing a validated platform for subsequent deployments.
CEO James Walker articulated the company's differentiated approach, emphasizing how modular design principles enable factory manufacturing of smaller components that can be transported and assembled for deployment across diverse market segments. These segments include remote operations, industrial sites, data centers, and military installations. This manufacturing strategy avoids the extended construction timelines and site-specific challenges characteristic of conventional large-scale nuclear reactor projects.
Data Center Energy Demand Creates Commercial Opportunity
The University of Illinois event featured presentations from engineering, construction, and commercial stakeholders highlighting the growing energy requirements of artificial intelligence-driven infrastructure. Matthew O'Hare, managing director of Power Construction's Data Structures Group and vice president of ARCOM Chicago, referenced Deloitte projections indicating U.S. data center power demand will expand from 41 gigawatts in 2025 to 176 gigawatts by 2035.
Derek Matthews, BaRupOn LLC's chief strategy officer, described his company's 700-acre advanced manufacturing and AI data center campus requiring over one gigawatt of power. The announcement of BaRupOn's feasibility study for approximately 15 KRONOS MMR units demonstrates commercial-scale interest in behind-the-meter baseload power generation. Microreactors provide advantages including elimination of multi-year grid interconnection delays, reduction of transmission infrastructure costs, and delivery of reliability suitable for 99.999 percent uptime operations required by mission-critical data center applications.
Global Energy Conference Participation Expands Market Reach

The conference participation reflects Nano Nuclear's strategy to engage with international energy sector stakeholders as nuclear technology assumes a more prominent role within diversified energy portfolios. As geopolitical complexity intensifies and artificial intelligence accelerates energy requirements, forums such as ADIPEC enable technology companies to demonstrate capabilities for addressing energy security and decarbonization objectives simultaneously.
Executive Team Advances Industry Dialogue
Beyond Yu's participation at ADIPEC, Nano Nuclear announced that chief executive officer James Walker will participate in panel discussions at the EUCI Virtual Summit on Commercializing SMRs and Micro Reactors on November 5, 2025, and the Wharton Energy and Climate Conference on November 7, 2025. Walker stated that these conferences provide essential venues for addressing technical and practical challenges shaping the rapidly evolving nuclear energy sector.
Walker emphasized that nuclear power must assume a more prominent role within the broader energy mix as an efficient, proven, and dependable source capable of meeting the growing electricity demands of data centers and artificial intelligence applications worldwide. This messaging aligns with Nano Nuclear's commercial strategy of positioning microreactor technology as the solution for customers requiring reliable, behind-the-meter baseload power with minimal grid dependence.
Capital Markets Position Supports Development Timeline
Yu's emphasis on Nano Nuclear's capital raising success underscores the financial foundation supporting the company's development activities. The over $600 million raised since the May 2024 initial public offering at progressively higher valuations indicates sustained investor confidence in the company's technical team, regulatory strategy, and commercial prospects. This capital position provides an operational runway for advancing prototype development, pursuing regulatory approvals, and engaging with prospective customers across multiple market segments.
The combination of prototype advancement, commercial customer interest, engineering partner validation, and global energy sector engagement demonstrates the multifaceted approach required for commercializing advanced nuclear technology. As Nano Nuclear progresses through regulatory licensing and prototype demonstration phases, the company's trajectory will provide important market signals regarding microreactor technology's viability for addressing growing energy demands in data center, industrial, and military applications.

Kristen's [Banned] Picture Book Book Club Releases Favorite Banned Children's Books for 2025
Kristen’s [Banned] Picture Book Book Club is excited to announce its list of favorite banned children books, released in time for consideration during this year's gift giving season.
1. "The 1619 Project: Born on the Water" by Nikole Hannah-Jones and Renee Watson
"A book with the important and essential message that African-American history doesn’t begin in America with the institution of slavery. It begins in Africa…and to fully understand the depth, breadth and beauty of that history, one has to begin in Africa … not Jamestown. Africa." — Marsha
2. "A is for Activist" by Innosanto Nagara
"I love this book and all of the possibilities presented for doing good in the world." — Kristen
3. "Unicorns Are the Worst" by Alex Willan
"So many children, me included, have little self-esteem and are bullied. This shows it's possible to overcome that and we can be different. The colors are beautiful and rainbows have a different meaning for young children, than the banned reason." — Mary
4. "Milo Imagines the World" with words by Matt de la Pena and pictures by Christian Robinson
"This lovely book shows us how exciting the world can be when seen with our imagination. The surprise ending also teaches us that we shouldn't make assumptions about others, or judge them, because their experience might be more like ours than we can possibly imagine." — David
5. "Julián is a Mermaid" by Jessica Love
"This sumptuously-illustrated book is a celebration of creativity and the joy of leaning into the fullness of who we are, at whatever age or stage." — Denise
6. "Draw Me a Star" by Eric Carle
"This is an ode to the creative spirit; an inspiration for children (often natural imaginers) to wonder at the world and discover their own beautiful possibilities; and an invitation for us grown-ups to joy in the beauty of the world that is ... and maybe to revisit our creative child-selves within!" — Ray
Rev. Kristen Barner started this banned picture book out of concern for the savage banning of children’s books in schools and libraries. She says that everything she taught to her high schoolers and middle schoolers is now banned. Kristen’s primary concern is for children who cannot drive to the library and, therefore, have no access to the beautiful picture books that advocate empathy, curiosity, love, respect for others and respect for self. Her desire is to introduce banned picture books to adults who would have no other reason to read these books. The idea is simple: if you like the book, perhaps you’ll share the book. If you don’t like the book, you don’t have to do anything. It’s a book. You can let it be. (But she really hopes you’ll like it and share it.)
Please consider shopping at your local bookstore and explore the titles of banned picture books. If you do not have access to a local bookstore, online options can include bookshop.org and www.thriftbooks.com.
About Kristen's [Banned] Picture Book Book Club
Kristen's [Banned] Picture Book Book Club is a private virtual book club for adults that explores banned children’s picture books. ServiceNow Wins 'Best Use of AI for Accessibility' at the Netty Awards
ServiceNow has won Best Use of AI for Accessibility at the Netty Awards for Voice Input for Now Assist, a generative AI powered feature that makes enterprise tasks hands free and meaningfully faster to complete. Rather than treating accessibility as a compliance requirement, ServiceNow built a system shaped by more than one hundred hours of direct testing with employees with disabilities through its TruAbility Network and Accessibility Product Advisory Council. While most enterprise platforms rely on standards based accessibility that can still create slow workflows, Voice Input for Now Assist uses ServiceNow’s AI platform to speed up commands and results with real world precision. It also supports short term use cases, such as employees managing temporary injuries who would otherwise need separate voice software.
ServiceNow’s win reflects a broader shift where accessibility is viewed as product innovation, with new capabilities already roadmapped including always on listening, adjustable speech speeds, AI generated page summaries, and domain specific voice commands for complex workflows.
The Proof: Faster Tasks, Higher Usability, Real ROI
ServiceNow’s recognition is grounded in proven outcomes. In formal testing, participants with disabilities completed tasks 41% faster using Voice Input for Now Assist and rated the usability of the experience 47% higher. These gains represent a meaningful improvement in how accessible enterprise workflows feel on a daily basis. Benefits extend beyond disability communities, as multitaskers and mobile workers have also reported measurable time savings, including one user who described reclaiming 30 to 45 minutes while reviewing tasks at the start of the day.
Enterprise buyers have responded strongly, with inclusive capabilities becoming a notable differentiator in competitive RFPs and large bids. The feature is already rolling out across sectors, with expansion underway across IT, HR, and customer service workflows. ServiceNow is also seeing talent advantages as workers with disabilities remain underrepresented in tech. Voice Input for Now Assist shows that inclusive AI drives productivity, brand leadership, and enterprise growth.
The Inclusive by Design Process Behind the Win
Voice Input for Now Assist was created through ServiceNow’s Inclusive by Design approach, which integrates accessibility into every stage of the product development life cycle. The process begins with listening, where internal disability communities identify real obstacles before development begins. Teams are required to design for a full spectrum of human capability instead of building for an assumed average user. Pre-tested accessible components prevent common barriers from being reintroduced, and specialized accessibility teams validate designs before coding begins. Feedback loops with the Product Advisory Council ensure that real-world experience directs ongoing iteration. The feature was shaped by more than one hundred hours of co-creation with employees with disabilities, which informed where task acceleration was most needed and where voice navigation would have the greatest impact.
The result is a system that improves usability for those with ongoing accessibility needs while raising the overall intuitiveness of the product for all users. The execution reflects creativity grounded in empathy and lived experience.
Setting a New Standard for Inclusive Enterprise Software
The success of Voice Input for Now Assist is a milestone not only for ServiceNow but for the broader enterprise software industry. It reframes accessibility as a driver of product innovation rather than a post-launch requirement and strengthens ServiceNow’s position as a leader in equitable technology. For employees with disabilities, it creates immediate improvements in day-to-day workflow participation. For workers with temporary limitations or a preference for hands-free interaction, it offers greater flexibility with less friction. For the industry, it sets a new performance standard by proving that accessibility can be a primary source of speed, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
This Netty Awards win validates that inclusive design is a strategic priority that aligns customer expectations, product innovation, and talent attraction in the modern workplace.

Master the Storm. Celebrate the Legend: Hongqi Golden Sunflower Guoya Honoured as SailGP Trophy Partner, Launches Middle East Pre-Sales
When a land-borne flagship crafted for ultimate excellence meets the ocean’s most prestigious sailing championship, what extraordinary spark is ignited? On November 30, Hongqi Golden Sunflower made its debut as the official exclusive luxury car partner of the SailGP International Sailing Grand Prix Abu Dhabi Final — often dubbed the “Formula 1 of the Sea.” The ultra-luxury executive sedan, Guoya, made its debut as the exclusive championship trophy car, marking the start of its pre-sale in the Middle East.
Own the Moment. Own the Glory
Since the debut of the first Hongqi sedan in 1958, it has always been a highly esteemed vehicle in China. The ultra-luxury sub-brand, Hongqi Golden Sunflower, has witnessed countless historic highlights, embodying the glory bestowed by history.
During the SailGP Abu Dhabi Final, Hongqi Golden Sunflower once again created a highlight moment: the ultra-luxury executive sedan Guoya was honoured as the official championship trophy car. At the pinnacle of the finals, alongside the emergence of a new maritime champion, the Guoya, with its Eastern aesthetic and ultra-luxurious presence, shared the stage with the winner, declaring to the world that the pinnacle of Eastern ultra-luxury is ready to create legends alongside the global elites.
A Product Backed by Real Strength, The Moment of Discovery
“As part of Hongqi’s global design team, my mission has always been to fuse Eastern elegance with an international luxury ethos,” said Giles Taylor, vice president of global design and chief creative officer of FAW Group, during the media event, offering an in-depth explanation of Guoya’s design philosophy.
Guoya interprets the Eastern pursuit of balance through design. Its front fascia draws on the proportions of the Gate of Supreme Harmony in China’s Forbidden City, inheriting 600 years of solemn harmony between “round heaven and square earth.” The 23.5-degree tilted emblem is designed as a tribute to Polaris.
Continuing Hongqi’s tradition of excellence, this ultra-luxury executive sedan is powered by a self-developed V8 engine delivering 430 kW (kilowatts) of combined output and 800 N·m (newton-meters) of torque, setting a new benchmark in performance while accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. Its 18-degree rear-wheel steering system ensures effortless agility in urban traffic, allowing the vehicle to navigate with composure and precision. The rear seats, featuring 22-way ultra-luxury electric adjustment, provide meticulous, personalized support, transforming every journey into a first-class experience where comfort, elegance, and refinement converge.
True elegance stems from inner composure. Guoya’s top-tier audio system, equipped with a 3,240-watt digital amplifier and 32 precision-positioned specialized speakers, has been fine-tuned over nearly 1,000 hours in collaboration with the China National Traditional Orchestra. It accurately recreates a Dolby 7.5.6 surround “concert hall” experience inside the cabin, delivering a pure Eastern auditory feast.
Stepping into Guoya is like entering a moving Eastern art palace. Its aviation-inspired first-class seats reflect the grandeur of ancient Chinese nobility, combining modern comfort with a distinguished presence.
“Guoya is a masterpiece created for leaders,” said Yang Xiaocui, vice president of China FAW Group Import & Export Co., Ltd, at the exclusive “Golden Sunflower Night” banquet during the finals. “Like a mobile Eastern feast, Guoya fuses historical heritage with modern comfort, offering a uniquely prestigious experience.”
“From the dual-tone paint finish to the meticulously crafted car keys, these extraordinary materials and craftsmanship form a canvas for personal expression,” Xiaocui added. “We have sculpted a truly unique car where every detail leaves a lasting imprint of individuality.”
At the banquet, Xiaocui invited SailGP CEO and Olympic champion Sir Russell Coutts to the stage, where he was officially named as a true friend of Hongqi and presented with a collectible Hongqi Guoya model car. She remarked, “Sir Russell Coutts’ relentless pursuit of excellence on the sailing course inspires the world, and this deeply resonates with Hongqi’s unwavering craftsmanship and dedication.”
A New Chapter, A Shared Legend
Taking this opportunity of the partnership with SailGP, Hongqi Golden Sunflower Guoya is simultaneously launching its Middle East pre-sale. The first 30 original owners to reserve the Guoya model in the Middle East will enjoy the following exclusive privileges: lifetime warranty, lifetime free roadside assistance, lifetime free at-home scheduled inspections, lifetime dedicated service and support, and comprehensive bespoke customisation options including bespoke paint finishes, featuring a spectrum of premier craftsmanship and distinguished two-tone options, bespoke interior colour (magnificent purple/linen beige two-tone combination).
Xiaocui noted that Guoya will also hold pre-sale events in the Middle East, such as Kuwait, further expanding its global high-end market presence. By appearing as an official partner at a top-tier international event, Hongqi Golden Sunflower not only injects fresh Eastern aesthetic inspiration into the global luxury car market but also demonstrates China’s brand competitiveness in the premium segment. As the brand continues to advance across global markets, this legendary vehicle — shared with champions and driven in partnership with elite users — will undoubtedly lead to even more remarkable achievements.

SPY–SPX Zero DTE Analyst Qamar Zaman Releases ‘Dealer Throttle’: New Resource for SPY and SPX Zero DTE Traders
Qamar Zaman, data analyst and founder of Coffee With Q, has released a new educational resource titled "Dealer Throttle: The Hidden Force Controlling Intraday Price Action." The resource explores how options market maker hedging activity influences price movement in SPY and SPX zero days to expiration (0DTE) trading.
Read the resource here: www.coffeewithq.org/trading-spy-spx-zero-dte-new-qz-dealer-throttle-the-hidden-force-controlling-intraday-price-action/
The resource covers:
- How market makers hedge options positions and why it creates directional flow
- The relationship between time decay and dealer hedging activity throughout the trading session
- Why price gravitates toward high open interest strikes
- The "Throttle Effect" — understanding zones of bullish and bearish pressure based on positioning data
- How 0DTE options behave differently due to accelerated time decay
"Most retail traders focus on price action without understanding the mechanics driving those moves," said Zaman. "Dealer Throttle is about visualizing the data that shows where market makers are likely buying or selling to hedge their positions. It's not about prediction — it's about reading the data that's already there."
The Dealer Throttle concept integrates with Zaman's existing Q Levels system, which tracks exposure data to identify key price levels. The resource explains the educational framework without revealing proprietary calculation methods.
Traders interested in learning more about options positioning data and the Dealer Throttle framework can access the full resource at Coffee With Q: www.coffeewithq.org/trading-spy-spx-zero-dte-new-qz-dealer-throttle-the-hidden-force-controlling-intraday-price-action/

VEVOR’s Response: An Experiential Event Built Around Creative Consumption
Against this backdrop, VEVOR is launching The Great Upgrade as both a public installation and a consumer initiative. The event is designed to demonstrate the brand’s philosophy of “creative consumption,” which encourages consumers to invest in accessible tools that empower them to become “creators” of their ideal spaces.
Set in Times Square, one of the world’s most influential advertising stages, the pop-up also reinforces VEVOR’s expanding global footprint and long-term commitment to socially conscious home innovation.
Event Highlights: Five Interactive Zones
The two-day pop-up will feature five interactive zones designed to showcase both the artistic and functional sides of home creation:
- Artist Zone: A collaborating artist will create a live “Home Creator Totem” using repurposed objects, demonstrating how everyday items can be reinvented through craftsmanship.
- Interactive Zone: Visitors can join reward activities by posting with #VevorUpgradeEverySpace, #VevorNewYork, or #VevorTradeIn, and take part in on-site challenges such as “Chisel Ice for Warmth” and the VEVOR Transformation Challenge.
- Product Showcase Area: Featured tools, bestsellers, and trade-in examples demonstrate how VEVOR supports home improvement, DIY projects, and both professional and side-hustle needs.
Aligning a shared high-traffic cultural moment with emerging consumer trends, VEVOR hopes to deepen its industry leadership in affordable home improvement networks.
The company expects the home creator community to grow even larger, the Home Creator Fund to make further progress still, and their firm to put more energy into experiences that are both imaginative and sustainable.

The 2025 Classical Chinese Poetry Contest — Set to Premiere in Europe — Will Bring the Art of Poetic China to Audiences Across the Continent
Poetry is the language of the soul and a bridge across cultures. A co-production of China Media Group, the Ministry of Education of China, and the State Language Commission, the 2025 Classical Chinese Poetry Contest will premiere in the U.K. and other European countries to foster a poetic dialogue between the East and West.
Since its debut in 2016, the program has grown into a flagship cultural program in China. It weaves classical poetry into a competitive format and blends poetic beauty and wit to bridge tradition and modernity, the East and West.
On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, the program brings together contestants from different walks of life — university students, firefighters, teachers, farmers, and more — to showcase the vitality and warmth of classical poetry in contemporary China. Through a vivid social mosaic, it highlights poetry’s living relevance and fulfills its core mission to “bring poetry into daily life.” Esteemed cultural scholars such as Kang Zhen, Meng Man, Li Bo, and Yang Yu will demystify the classics with clear commentary, leading the audience on a poetic journey to discover the emotional and spiritual vocabulary unique to Chinese expression.
The 2025 edition introduces AI-generated imagery and fluid lighting technology to redefine visual storytelling and enable a digital revival of classical motifs. Virtual creations like the “Night Market of Prosperous Chang’an” orchestrate a symphony of technology and poetry, transporting a global audience on an immersive journey into Eastern culture.
The new edition features a refreshed format, which retains beloved segments like “Fei Hua Ling” (a thematic verse chain) and “Poetry in Painting,” while introducing a new challenge round — “Champions’ League” and a situational challenge inspired by the classical painting "The Itinerant Peddler." The fusion of intellectual depth and visual spectacle allows viewers to step into the poetic realm and embark on a cultural journey into the heart of the Chinese spiritual world.
Positioned within the global cultural dialogue, the 2025 Classical Chinese Poetry Contest serves not only as a spiritual anchor for cultural identity among overseas Chinese but also opens a window into the linguistic artistry and philosophical depth of Chinese poetry for European audiences.
