A semi-truck began moving into the plaintiff’s lane without yielding, forcing the plaintiff’s vehicle off the roadway and into a ditch. Truck accidents remain a concern on major highways throughout South Carolina, with I-26 identified in state safety reports as a corridor with a high frequency of incidents involving commercial vehicles. The South Carolina Department of Public Safety has previously reported that lane change errors are a common contributing factor in such collisions.
