Veteran Hollywood Producer, Pouya Shahbazian, Launches AI Entertainment Studio, Staircase Studios AI
Pouya Shahbazian, producer of the Divergent franchise, has founded Staircase Studios AI, a new film, television, and gaming studio. In collaboration with Brett Stuart, Head of AI Filmmaking, Staircase has built a proprietary AI workflow, ForwardMotion, that revolutionizes the process of studio filmmaking. The studio aims to produce upwards of 30 projects in the next three to four years by achieving near-major studio quality releases at budgets under $500,000 USD. Joining the company as a partner and working as the lead investor in the venture is Kenneth Lerer, who co-founded The Huffington Post and is currently Managing Director Emeritus of the venture capital firm Lerer Hippeau. Advising the company is Lorenzo di Bonaventura, producer of the Transformers and G.I. Joe franchises.
Staircase has acquired multiple pieces of IP and a number of well-regarded industry scripts, including nearly 20 scripts that appeared on the annual Black List over the past decade. Staircase is committed to working with union members in many production departments, including actors, who will be paid industry rates to voice all of the dialogue in every script.

"The Woman with Red Hair" is the extraordinary true story of Johanna “Hannie” Schaft, a young woman who dropped out of college to join the Dutch resistance during World War II, eventually becoming one of its most talented assassins and one of the Nazis’ most wanted enemies. It stars newcomer Maya-Nika Bewley, Leander Vyvey ("Vikings: Valhalla"), Angus Castle-Doughty ("Shadow and Bone"), and Geoffrey Breton ("The Crown").
The film has original character designs from Oscar-nominee Teddy Newton, who was formerly a member of the Pixar brain trust and served as one of the character designers of "The Incredibles." It also includes art and designs from Emmy Award-winning animator Alfred Gimeno ("Kung Fu Panda" and "Tiny Toon Adventures").
Currently in pre-production, the studio’s second feature film is "Every Living Creature"—a fully animated four-quadrant adventure thriller directed by three-time Emmy Award winner, Bernie Su ("Artificial"). J.R. Arellano ("Flicka 2") adapted the script from the Truly*Adventurous digital media magazine article of the same name. The film is inspired by the true story of three brave daredevils who risked their lives to rescue every animal left stranded on the Caribbean island of Montserrat after a devastating volcanic eruption in 1997.
On the gaming side, Staircase is partnering with Mother Games, an AI gaming tech company pioneering adaptive, player-driven AI experiences to leverage its Womb suite of foundational AI tools—developed for gaming—to accelerate new game creation. - "Between the Dog and the Wolf," by Matthew Sand, the veteran screenwriter behind "Deepwater Horizon." Pitched tonally in the vein of "Heat" meets Bram Stoker’s "Dracula," Sand will make his directorial debut.
- "Fully Wrecked," by Josh Feldman and Scott Wolman. Pitched tonally in the vein of "Rush Hour," "Fully Wrecked" appeared on the 2013 annual Black List. Logline: An R-rated talking car from the ’80s is brought back into service and teamed up with the son of his former partner, a befuddled cop looking to earn his stripes.
- "Sundown," by Nick Hurwitch. Pitched as "E.T." meets "A Quiet Place," "Sundown" appeared on the 2023 annual Black List. Logline: Monsters that roam in daylight keep a small rural family confined to a nocturnal lifestyle. But when their son starts to question the monsters’ existence, his parents must see how far they’re willing to go to keep him safe.

IT Company Andersen Releases Expert Interview with Prominent AI Innovator for Global Food Manufacturer

The example given on AI for new product innovation was how Mars came up with their spicy chocolate bar for the Chinese market by analyzing data from Alibaba, a major marketplace where Mars’ products are sold. This data revealed that after consumers bought chocolate, a lot of them were buying something spicy. That gave the manufacturer an idea to combine those two, and of course, impacted marketing and sales tremendously by setting the trend for the entire industry.
Andersen, in its position as a prominent AI software developer, actively leverages this technology in marketing and sales. “AI tools are extremely helpful for improving the quality of our interactions with clients,” Mr. Kuzmenko explains. "AI-fueled software programs solicit customer feedback, generate automated messages, analyze the communication of specialists over the phone and in messaging apps, track compliance with scripts in real time, assess sentiment and evaluate client satisfaction levels, identify areas for improvements, provide recommendations, etc."

Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center (BHERC), Lift International Church, and I Choose Life Foundation Join Forces to Reunite Displaced Seniors at Heartwarming “Gathering of Love Luncheon”
In a powerful demonstration of community resilience, nearly 100 Altadena wildfire survivors—predominantly seniors who have been scattered across Southern California—will reunite some for the first time since disaster struck at the "Gathering of Love Luncheon" this month. This special event represents a collaborative effort between the Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center (BHERC), Lift International Church, and the I Choose Life Foundation to provide both physical nourishment and emotional healing to those whose lives were upended by the devastating fires.
Set against the backdrop of Black History Month and Women's History Month celebrations, the luncheon will offer attendees a rare opportunity to enjoy a home-cooked soul food meal, a simple pleasure many have been denied while staying in temporary accommodations. The gathering will take place Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 12:00–3:00 p.m. at Lift International Church, 1757 North Lake Ave, Pasadena, CA 91104.
"These seniors have been scattered to the winds—living in crowded hotel rooms, cycling through Airbnb’s every few days, or doubled up with relatives from Riverside to San Clarita and more" noted Sandra Evers-Manly, founder of BHERC and architect of its Operation Love Initiative. "Beyond losing their homes, they've lost their community connections. This luncheon creates a space where they can exhale, embrace familiar faces, and feel surrounded by love again."
Evers-Manly has witnessed firsthand the emotional toll on seniors, having personally shopping and delivering critical essential items to them and their families, helping with supporting those wanting to view the remnants of homes where they built decades of memories. Her team has provided not just material support but also companionship through the bewildering maze of insurance claims and other paperwork.
The human cost of the Altadena fires is staggering—an estimated 13,000 homes destroyed, over 50,000 individuals displaced, and elderly residents facing particularly severe challenges in rebuilding their lives.
Dr. Anthony McFarland, Pastor of Lift International Church, emphasizes the deeper purpose behind the event: “In the face of tragedy and destruction, all we must lean on is each other. This gathering reminds us that community isn’t defined by buildings, but by people who care for one another. No one should face this journey of recovery alone.”
