At RAPID + TCT 2026, held at the Thomas M. Menino Convention and Exhibition Center, MOVA AtomForm today highlighted its latest innovation in additive manufacturing: a 12-nozzle system designed to significantly reduce material waste while advancing efficiency and automation. The debut comes as the industry enters a new phase focused less on raw performance metrics and more on intelligent, sustainable production.

This year’s exhibition reflects a broader shift across additive manufacturing — from a historic emphasis on speed and build volume to a new focus on artificial intelligence, workflow automation, and material efficiency.

Despite rapid growth in the sector, multi-material and multi-color printing have remained constrained by inefficiencies, particularly the need for purge cycles during material transitions. These processes often generate substantial waste, limiting scalability in both consumer and professional applications.

At Booth #1313, MOVA AtomForm is demonstrating how hardware innovation can address these longstanding challenges. Its flagship Palette 300 system features the proprietary OmniElement™ 12-nozzle switching system, a high-precision rotary mechanism with 12 independently heated nozzles.

By eliminating the need to purge a single nozzle during material changes, the system delivers up to a 50% increase in switching speed and reduces material waste by as much as 90%, effectively removing the need for purge towers.

The system is equipped with a 350°C high-temperature hotend and a 65°C actively controlled chamber, enabling the use of engineering-grade materials in a desktop format. It supports expanded capabilities of up to 36-color printing and 12-material combinations, reflecting a broader industry trend toward zero-waste manufacturing and the expansion of desktop 3D printing into professional applications.

The Palette 300 has also received industry recognition, including the iF Design Award and MUSE Design Awards Gold, underscoring the growing importance of combining advanced engineering with design excellence.

MOVA AtomForm’s innovation extends beyond hardware. The Palette 300 integrates an advanced sensor network, including more than 50 sensors and four AI-powered cameras, to provide continuous, real-time monitoring throughout the printing process.

This “always-on” feedback system analyzes data to automatically detect and correct deviations, reducing the need for manual oversight and improving consistency and reliability.

Complementing the hardware, MOVA’s AtomForm Studio and AtomVerse platforms leverage AI-assisted modeling to streamline workflows. Together, these technologies reflect a broader industry movement toward improving user experience and transforming 3D printers into intuitive, automated production tools.

The technologies on display at RAPID + TCT 2026 signal a clear evolution in additive manufacturing. As AI-driven monitoring converges with precision mechanical engineering, the industry is moving beyond its hobbyist origins toward autonomous, low-waste, and high-efficiency production systems.

MOVA AtomForm’s latest advancements demonstrate how bridging accessibility with industrial-grade performance can accelerate adoption across engineering, professional, and creative sectors — positioning additive manufacturing for its next phase of growth.
