Motherly is expanding from where moms find answers to where they find each other, with a new vertical video studio, chat groups and in-person, hyperlocal events

NEW YORK, NY, November 2, 2026 (EZ Newswire) -- Motherly, the parenting media brand that reaches 20 million moms a month, is reinventing itself as a vertical video incubator and community platform for moms. CEO Sharon Yi, a 20-year digital media operator who joined Motherly in May 2026, outlined the strategy last week at Motherly’s State of Motherhood event in New York City, which brought together moms, creators, advocates and leaders from Fortune 500 brands and agencies. Motherly is the first brand in the ParentsTogether Media Network, a growing portfolio of parenting communities, each built for a specific audience with tailored content and experiences.
New CEO Sharon Yi Joined in May 2026
Yi has spent two decades building content businesses through every platform shift, from Google algorithm changes to the rise of Instagram and social video. She has led editorial, marketing and branded-content teams at renowned brands including Refinery29, Condé Nast, Clique Brands, Jellysmack and Chief. She joined in May 2026 and serves as CEO of both Motherly and its parent company, the ParentsTogether Media Network.
“I’ve spent my career inventing new formats that meet audiences where they are, and where they’re going next,” said Sharon Yi, CEO of Motherly and ParentsTogether Media Network. “As platforms inevitably change, the rigorous standards behind every format I’ve built have stayed the same, because audiences deserve content they can trust. I’m honored to step into this new role at Motherly, which is truly the culmination of my personal and professional journey. Not only have I built my entire career in digital media, I’m a mom of two absolutely perfect girls who are my world. I know what it’s like to search for answers at 2 a.m. or feel the immense loneliness of early motherhood. And I’m ready to lead Motherly into its next chapter — as a place where moms come to find answers, and each other.”
Motherly Today
Motherly enters this next era with scale and direct access to the most powerful consumers in the country. Moms make 85% of household purchasing decisions and control $2.4 trillion in annual U.S. spending, from the family car to the vacation destination to the birthday registry. “Moms aren't a niche audience. They're the audience. And Motherly reaches 20 million of them every month,” said Yi.
In 2025, Motherly joined the ParentsTogether Media Network, which is backed by the nonprofit ParentsTogether Foundation. The partnership allows Motherly to fund campaigns on systemic issues that impact all women and families, such as maternal health, kids' online safety and children's nutrition — issues that brand partners might not tackle, while the commercial business keeps growing.
Motherly’s Next Chapter: A Vertical Video Incubator and a Community for Moms
Motherly is becoming an incubator for vertical video, developing new series for the platforms where moms spend their time and holding every one to rigorous newsroom standards including fact checking, sourcing, and input from multiple experts.
Additionally, under Yi’s leadership, Motherly will evolve beyond digital content into a community that connects moms with each other, in group chats and in person at hyperlocal events.
On the evolution to community, Yi said, “Our last State of Motherhood report revealed that 70% of moms say motherhood is lonelier than they expected, and 1 in 5 feel isolated every day. Motherly has always been where moms find answers. Now it will be where they find each other. We want Motherly to reflect what today’s village actually looks like for moms and that’s a mix of Reddit at 2 a.m., group chats, local mom friends, and more. We want Motherly to help facilitate all of these connections across her life.”

About the ParentsTogether Media Network
Motherly is the first brand in the ParentsTogether Media Network, and Yi intends it to be one of many. The goal is a network of trusted parenting communities, each built for the parents it serves best, with the ambition of becoming the largest parenting group in the world. Future communities could serve fathers, single parents, parents of neurodivergent children and empty nesters, giving brand partners a way to reach distinct parent audiences through one network.
“Motherly is the first step, not the last,” said Yi. “There's a community to build for every kind of parent in this country.”
