This June, global storytelling nonprofit The Moth extends its acclaimed “American Dreams” Mainstage tour to four additional cities — Washington, D.C., Denver, St. Paul, and Houston — in a special programming series. The tour features a curated collection of stories that explore the complexities, triumphs, and surprises of the American experience. Pairing beloved listener favorites with brand-new, never-before-aired stories, the offshoot offers a rare opportunity to experience The Moth live, returning to some cities for the first time in years and debuting in others. Tickets for all four cities are on sale as of Thursday, April 16.

Each show in the series will feature the same powerhouse lineup:

  • Jon Goode (host) — Emmy-nominated writer and author of “Black Curio,” whose work has appeared on CNN, HBO, VH1, and MTV
  • George Sumner (storyteller) — retired Salt Lake City firefighter, and suburban fire chief
  • Alistair Bane (storyteller) — citizen of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, writer, and visual artist
  • Jackie Andrews (storyteller) — former Army officer, and glass artist from Columbus, Ohio
  • John Paul Brammer (storyteller) — author and illustrator from Oklahoma, acclaimed for his book “¡Hola Papi!”
  • Renita Walls (storyteller) — spoken-word artist, and nurse practitioner from Atlanta, Georgia

Tour Dates and Venues

Doors open for all at 6:30 p.m. / Show starts at 7:30 p.m.

"We’re excited to extend our 'American Dreams' tour to more communities at this pivotal moment, as the United States approaches its 250th anniversary," said Christina Norman, Chief Creative Officer of The Moth. "For two and a half centuries, the idea of the American Dream has inspired people with the belief that where you begin does not determine where you end up. These stories — some fan favorites, some being heard for the first time — reflect the many ways people define and reinvent that dream. There’s nothing like experiencing them together in a room."
