Perpetuals Trading Is Now Available to Ledger Users, Provided by Yield.xyz PerpsKit

Ledger today announced that Ledger Perps, the perpetual futures trading feature built on Yield.xyz’s PerpsKit, is now available to all Ledger users in qualified locations. Previously limited to select users, the full rollout marks the first time a tier-1 hardware wallet has made native onchain perpetuals trading accessible to a mainstream self-custodial audience at scale.

Ledger users can go long or short on BTC, ETH, SOL, and other digital assets with up to 50x leverage, directly within their hardware wallet. PerpsKit routes every trade through Hyperliquid, the most widely adopted onchain perps venue by volume. Each transaction is presented for clear-signing on the user's Ledger device before anything is submitted onchain. Assets remain in self-custody throughout.

The Infrastructure Behind Ledger Perps

PerpsKit is Yield.xyz's infrastructure layer for onchain perpetuals trading. It normalizes execution, portfolio management, and market data across onchain trading venues into a single integration point. For Ledger, that means a complete trading experience through HyperLiquid: opening and closing positions, adjusting leverage, setting stop-loss and take-profit orders, and monitoring margin, all surfaced natively within the wallet. Ledger did not need to build or maintain protocol-level integrations, order management logic, or cross-chain orchestration to ship the feature.

Trades execute through Hyperliquid, and the clear-signing requirement on the Ledger device means users authorize every transaction with full visibility before anything reaches the chain.

What Full Availability Means for the Market

Onchain perps trading volume has grown significantly over the past two years, but access for mainstream crypto audiences has remained limited. Until now, users who wanted perps exposure faced a direct tradeoff: trade on a centralized exchange and accept custodial risk, or navigate onchain venues outside the hardware wallet environment and without hardware-level transaction verification.

Ledger Perps removes that tradeoff. With the feature available to Ledger's full user base in eligible locations, self-custodial perps trading is no longer a niche capability. It is a standard option for anyone using the most widely adopted hardware wallet on the market.
