SHANGRAO, China, August 28, 2026 (EZ Newswire) -- Geely Auto Group today unveiled a new suite of AI-powered technologies for electrified off-road vehicles, designed to combine demanding all-terrain capability with the comfort and refinement of everyday driving. Bringing together the dedicated GTA vehicle architecture, Geely EM-T hybrid powertrain and an AI all-terrain digital chassis, the technologies will make their debut in Geely’s off-road model Zhanjian 700.

GTA builds on Geely Auto Group’s experience in developing architectures including CMA, SEA and GEA. The company has invested more than RMB 50 billion in vehicle architecture development, with GTA extending that expertise to the specific requirements of electrified off-road vehicles.

The GTA architecture combines unibody construction with an integrated frame, bringing structural strength and passenger comfort into a single design. By integrating the frame into the body rather than mounting the body on a separate chassis, the architecture reduces weight and makes more efficient use of cabin and luggage space.

Developed for off-road use, the Geely EM-T hybrid powertrain combines a three-motor four-wheel-drive system with intelligent torque management and differential locking. Supported by Geely’s Xingtui AI-powered Drive technology, the system is designed to deliver responsive power and precise torque distribution, helping the vehicle maintain traction and regain mobility in difficult terrain.

Working alongside the powertrain, the AI all-terrain digital chassis calculates power distribution, torque control and vehicle body adjustments to suit driving conditions. Coordinating these functions helps maintain stability and control across different surfaces, making demanding terrain more manageable for the driver while supporting comfort on the road.

The technology suite extends Geely Auto’s safety engineering to situations that drivers may encounter beyond the road, including rollovers, water-related emergencies, and high-altitude conditions.

Alongside structural and battery protection, an emergency flotation and escape mode uses sonar and twin propulsors to assist vehicle movement in water-related emergencies. For high-altitude travel, an onboard oxygen supply system offers both cabin diffusion and direct nasal delivery, with a dedicated mode for use while sleeping during camping trips.

Satellite communications support messages, images, short voice messages and emergency assistance requests where mobile network coverage is unavailable.

The Geely Zhanjian 700 has undergone a development and validation program involving 659 test vehicles and more than 6.11 million kilometers of testing. The program has covered more than 80 real-world off-road scenarios and completed 7,933 validation items, including 433 newly added requirements specific to electrified off-road vehicles.

This work draws on Geely Auto’s broader global testing network, comprising five major test regions and 16 test bases. Each year, the company deploys more than 10,000 test vehicles and accumulates over 100 million kilometers of testing.

At the launch event, held at its Shangrao proving ground, Geely Auto Group also introduced a customer-focused global vehicle validation system, which brings together international standards, testing facilities and engineering expertise to assess vehicles against the conditions customers encounter in daily use. It expands the scope of validation beyond regulatory compliance to anticipate further requirements in safety, reliability and intelligent vehicle performance.

As Geely Auto Group expands internationally, the system will support vehicle development for diverse markets and operating environments. The company also aims to share testing capabilities and collaborate with industry partners on the development of validation methods and standards.
