Concert Artists Guild Honors VisionIntoArt Board Chair Jill Steinberg for Arts Leadership and Innovation

NEW YORK, NY, September 16, 2026 (EZ Newswire) -- VisionIntoArt board chair Jill Steinberg was honored by Concert Artists Guild at its 75th Anniversary Gala on September 14 in Tribeca for her contributions to the arts community and her longstanding commitment to supporting innovative artistic initiatives. She was recognized alongside the Emerson String Quartet and Music for Autism, highlighting her leadership in advancing interdisciplinary projects that connect the arts, technology, and accessibility.

The recognition reflects Ms. Steinberg’s years of service to nonprofit arts organizations, including her role as board chair of VisionIntoArt, where she has helped support projects that bring together artists, technologists, and disability advocates. Among those initiatives is the composer Paola Prestini’s Sensorium Ex, an opera exploring disability, artificial intelligence, and communication accessibility that continues to reach new audiences through international presentations.

Recognition for Artistic and Community Impact

As board president of National Sawdust and the board chair of VisionIntoArt (the Impact Lab of National Sawdust), Ms. Steinberg has spent years supporting nonprofit arts organizations through leadership, philanthropy, and advocacy for innovative artistic programming. Her work has helped foster collaborations that explore the intersection of music, technology, and social impact while expanding opportunities for artists and audiences alike.

Ms. Steinberg’s work as a performance photographer has documented productions and artists at venues throughout the United States and abroad, including the Park Avenue Armory, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Barbican Center in London, the Onassis Library in Athens, and numerous contemporary arts organizations.

Supporting Innovation Through VisionIntoArt

One of the organization’s recent initiatives is Sensorium Ex, an opera exploring disability, artificial intelligence, and communication accessibility. The project brings together artists, engineers, and disability advocates to examine how emerging technologies can create new forms of expression while improving accessibility for individuals with communication challenges. Composed by Paola Prestini and librettist Brenda Shaughnessy, Sensorium Ex has a live residency event scheduled at National Sawdust in Brooklyn on November 19, 2026.

Following its recent New York performance and workshop in collaboration with New York University’s engineering department, Sensorium Ex recently debuted at the Royal Ballet and Opera’s SHIFT Festival in London on June 6, 2026. This international presentation has extended the project’s reach to new audiences, reinforcing VisionIntoArt’s commitment to interdisciplinary artistic innovation.

Sensorium AI, a creative arts and technology project focused on expanding voice and creative expression for minimally verbal and nonspeaking individuals, partnered with NYU's Ability Project to engineer communication tools — developed as part of Sensorium Ex — that empower individuals who cannot rely on verbal speech to express themselves. The work aligns with VisionIntoArt's broader mission of using artistic experiences to address social issues and expand access to creative expression

Photography, Publishing, and Philanthropy

In addition to her work with nonprofit arts organizations, Ms. Steinberg continues to develop photography projects focused on music and performance. Two major exhibitions are planned for 2027, including an opera photography exhibition at Ethan Cohen Gallery in New York City in January (with exact dates to be announced), and a second exhibition featuring portraits of notable musicians and composers at The KuBe Art Center in Beacon, New York, on May 8, 2027. 

Ms. Steinberg is also the author of “Contemplations” and “Invisible Revealed.” Both publications are available through National Sawdust, with proceeds supporting VisionIntoArt’s Impact Lab.

Throughout her career, Ms. Steinberg has emphasized the use of photography and artistic documentation as tools to support organizations and artists whose work creates social impact. Her photographs have appeared on NASA.gov website under Hubble’s Cultural Impact and in publications including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and various arts and cultural outlets.
