ZVerse Launches Early Access of its 3D Collaboration Platform Revaly

ZVerse, an award-winning design technology firm, today announces early access of Revaly, its web-based 3D design collaboration software, which is focused on solving the unique communication challenges between engineers and their non-technical peers and/or clients. With Revaly, everyone can securely view, share and annotate computer-aided design (CAD) models asynchronously or in real-time from any device.

"Our goal with Revaly is to make design conversations incredibly easy, efficient and enjoyable for engineers and non-technical collaborators," said John Carrington, CEO of ZVerse.  "Having spent years in the design-for-manufacturing world, we understand the importance of getting feedback early and often from all stakeholders. Revaly offers an approachable user experience for hi-fidelity design conversations that result in happier teams and more productive organizations."

In January, ZVerse offered Revaly in a closed beta program for organizations from the biotech, industrial manufacturing services, consumer products and education sectors.  Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corp., a leading manufacturer of generic respiratory medications, became an early adopter of Revaly for use by their rapidly expanding engineering and manufacturing teams.

"At Nephron, collaboration between our engineers, machine shop technicians, suppliers and the production floor is critical to keeping our medications shipping to customers.  Revaly streamlines design conversations between our departments better than anything we've tried.  Our team loves how easy it is to use and how much time it saves them in design cycles.  Revaly will save our company millions of dollars by having better design feedback earlier in the process," said Lou Kennedy, Owner and CEO of Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporation

Bringing Design Reviews into the Modern Era

As remote work has become more ubiquitous, asynchronous collaboration tools for ideation, workflows and huddling have exploded onto the market.  However, 80% of engineers still rely on a combination of email, screenshots and PDFs to collaborate with their product development teams or clients. Communicating on 3D models is complex due to file sizes, software requirements to view, technical skill sets and security considerations.

"Collaborative engineering and seamless knowledge transfer are the keys to innovation in manufacturing design. Revaly enables true asynchronous design collaboration in a way that is impossible to achieve through email and slide presentations," said Ramy Harik, PhD., Chief Manufacturing Officer at Nephron Pharmaceuticals.

To receive early access to Revaly, visit Revaly.com.  Simplify your design conversations today!

Alchemie Earns $1M Grant for Accessible Learning for STEM

Alchemie, an educational technology company based in Troy, Michigan, today announced it has received a prestigious one-million-dollar Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grant from the Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences (IES), to bring to market the Kasi Learning System. SBIR grants are awarded to startups building game-changing technologies with the potential for positive impact on society.

Kasi is a system which uses multi-sensory augmented reality to create pathways for all students, and especially those with blindness or low vision (BLV), to explore and learn chemistry and science.

The Kasi system is a web-based software application that combines tactile manipulatives with computer vision algorithms to allow the manipulatives to "talk" to students to provide guidance as students learn STEM concepts. Instead of a mouse or a touchpad, the Kasi manipulatives, embossed with braille and other symbols, provide an alternative user interface for Alchemie's interactive learning software.

The goal is to create a learning system that is "born accessible," and deliver accommodations for differently abled learners as a key feature, not as an add-on to the product. Since most BLV students are more likely to receive instruction in mainstream classes, Kasi helps to build inclusiveness and confidence for BLV students and increase academic persistence in STEM courses.

"With the shift to all-digital learning tools which rely more on visual interactions, blind science students have an even more difficult time keeping up with content," said Julia Winter, Alchemie founder. "With the STEM skills learned from tools like Kasi, BLV youngsters are more likely to have the confidence to continue on into good science-oriented careers."

Through partnerships with leading education publishers Alchemie integrates their innovative learning tools, including Kasi, into content and homework systems, creating a truly accessible learning experience for all students.

With $125,000 in additional funding from the Michigan Emerging Technology Fund, the Alchemie team plans to design and manufacture inclusive packaging and the Kasi tactile pieces in the Traverse City area of Northwest Michigan.

Exponent Beauty, Self-Activated Skincare Pioneer, Unveils New Active Powder: Time Rewind Retinol

Exponent Beauty, officially launched this past April 2022 as the first self-activated, fresh clinical skincare line, introduces its newest Active Powder to join its skincare lineup this June– Time Rewind Retinol Powder.

Exponent's patented self-activated skincare line quickly dispenses a precise dose of both Active Powder and Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Hydrator, creating a freshly-whipped Superior Serum with a light gel-cream texture. By mixing an Active Powder complex with the Hydrator, there are no jars, tubes, or bottles of formulas past their prime, just a convenient, single-dose application in under eight seconds.

Unlike traditional water-based skincare formulas that start degrading the moment they're manufactured, Exponent's Superior Serums are protected until they're activated – keeping the efficacy in – and the elements out. Exponent defies skincare "over-innovation," cutting through the clutter to give consumers the highest-functioning formulas that yield impressive clinical results with self-activated skincare made in an instant to keep clinically proven ingredients at their peak potency.

Upon first launching, Exponent unveiled a Superior Serum lineup including four different Active Powder formulas including Vitamin C, CoQ10, Green Tea + Resveratrol, and Probiotic + Enzyme blends – each of which offered targeted solutions for multiple skincare concerns when mixed with the Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Hydrator.

For its next  launch, on July 14, 2022, Exponent will reveal its fifth Serum: Time Rewind Retinol, with age-defying powers ideal for achieving tighter, clearer, and more youthful looking skin. Time Rewind has been clinically proven to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, even skin tone and texture, and firm and smooth skin without irritation, resulting in 100% of test subjects showing clinically significant decreases in global facial fine lines and wrinkles, and 76% showing clinically significant increases in skin elasticity after four weeks.

As noted by Exponent Founder, Liz Whitman, "Retinol is the most fragile of the antioxidants, disappearing rapidly once exposed to light and air. It also has a reputation as irritating if too concentrated. We wanted our serums to not only deliver peak potency in every dose, but at an optimal concentration for clinically-proven decreases in fine lines and wrinkles without irritating the skin.

Liz began Exponent from an "AHA moment" while President & CMO of The Red Door by Elizabeth Arden, where top estheticians optimize precious active ingredients by mixing skincare fresh, in the moment for best results. This led her to question: how effective can pre-mixed retail skincare products be? After two years of researching hundreds of skincare products, including third-party testing on best-sellers, the conclusion became that skincare products, ironically, have an aging problem. She discovered that pre-bottled skincare can degrade up to 40% in just 8 weeks, ultimately rendering your skincare ineffective.

Exponent is backed by Founders Fund (Ritual, 8Sleep), Unilever Ventures (The Inkey List, Kopari Beauty, Saie), SugarCap (Starface, Snif), Flybridge Capital (Chief, Parachute) and Bullish (Harry's, Care/of); as well as strategic beauty industry execs and entrepreneurs. Such supporters include Sara and Erin Foster, who are advisors and investors in Exponent, both with track records of working with disruptive consumer brands (Bumble, Mirror).

Exponent prides itself on its commitment to sustainability –  holding its packaging to as high a standard as its ingredients, a practice that has earned the brand Certified B Corporation status prior to official launch, ideating and designing the innovative Exponent Self-Activator to be reusable and eliminating plastic waste with refills of both the Hydrator and Active Powders made out of infinitely recyclable glass and aluminum.

Exponent exists to not only provide the best-in-class, highest-performing skincare products, but to educate consumers on the science behind skincare and offer effective and practical solutions for all. The introductory Retinol Starter Kit (Self-Activator Globe + Dispenser, Self-Activator Base, Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Hydrator Refill and Retinol Active Powder Refill) retails for $166. The brand also offers sustainable product refills for the Retinol Active Powder + Hydrator components: a separate Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Hydrator Refill (90 doses) sells for $68, and a separate Retinol Active Powder Refill (45 doses) for $78.

MySummerChallenge.com Helps Parents Keep Their Teens and Pre-Teens Healthy and Active All Summer

Mysummerchallenge.com announces its six-week teen and pre-teen summer series titled My Summer Challenge, filled with inspiration and creative ways to keep kids active and motivated all summer long.  The program launches this Saturday July 16, 2022.

Kids Need Help Getting off all their Screens

It is not an exaggeration to say that there is an epidemic today for teens and pre-teens and that is their addiction to social media, online gaming, television programming and movies.  YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok have revolutionized the way kids think and interact; the downside is that they have made kids more observational rather than experiential – they observe others as they live their lives, but the teens and pre-teens have forgotten how to create their own memories and experiences. This has led to the unintended side-effects of passivity, social reclusiveness, and depression/anxiety.

Parents are at their wits end this summer and do not know how to help their kids be kids again.

My Summer Challenge to the Rescue

My Summer Challenge (www.mysummerchallenge.com) is launching this Saturday, July 16 and is a game-changer for parents, and their teen and pre-teenage kids.  My Summer Challenge is a six-week program designed help teens and pre-teens become more active in two areas: Mind and Motion.  With Mind, the participants receive weekly inspirational content (videos, interviews, articles) to inspire their imaginations and desire to become and do their very best.  Positive, inspirational, and motivational – all designed for teens and pre-teens.

With the Motion aspect of My Summer Challenge, teens and pre-teens are sent daily bursts of content all designed to help them be active, creative and engage with their friends more.  There are four different categories: Friendlys (tons of games and activities with friends), Creativities (inspiration to be creative in eight different categories from arts/craft to acting/singing to creating their own cooking or DIY show), Adventures (planning for those special weekly adventures with friends to places like the County Fair, the zoo, a beach excursion), and Fitness (multiple options each week to help kids be active and healthy, regardless of their skill or ability).

What makes My Summer Challenge so exciting is that the users are constantly encouraged to involve their friends and make memories together.  There is even a fun built-in weekly activity tracker that the kids use to amass as many points as possible through their activities and creativities.  And the users track their progress in their personal My Summer Challenge journals.

My Summer Challenge Host and Director: Scott Ross

Scott Ross is the founder and director of My Summer Challenge and the host for the six weeks of content.  Scott has over a decade of work leading teens and pre-teen programs, is an inspirational genius, funny, engaging and earns the respect of teens and pre-teens alike.

Dacha Beer Garden's™ Seventh Annual "Sour Liz" Event Highlights the Best "Pucker Up" Brews to Tickle Tastebuds

It's time to slather on lipstick, pucker up, and take a selfie at Dacha Beer Garden's Shaw location where the Seventh Annual "Sour Liz" Event is in full swing until July 20. Named for the iconic Elizabeth Taylor mural that seems to watch over the beer garden's festivities, "Sour Liz" features more than 14 rare, unusual, and notable sour brews from more than 10 participating breweries and ushers in the latest trend in craft beers, according to Dacha co-founder Dmitri Chekaldin.

"The sours are the fastest-growing beer category at the moment," said Chekaldin. "They are quickly growing in popularity and the varieties are continually multiplying. Everyone loves the bold flavors, but they particularly appeal to our female customers."

If the Sour Patch Kids had grown up, they would undoubtedly have a hard time choosing between some of the tart and sweet options such as Mustang Sally's Key Lime Imperial Sour Ale. Another treat for the senses is Caboose Brewing's Tangerine Gose with unmistakable notes of tangerine and tropical fruit flavors. For full-on sophistication or to show off in front of friends, there's the Rose City Sour from Cascade Brewing, described as "delicate aromas of fresh roses with notes of dried cranberries, pomegranates, and a hint of white pepper."

Other participating breweries with lip-curdling concoctions include Red Bear Brewing, Union Brewing, Caboose Brewing, Thin Man Brewery, Ithaca Brewing, Evolution Brewing, Solace Brewing, and 7 Locks Brewing.

According to Chekaldin, in addition to the sour beers' distinctive flavors, the fruit-laden beverages could also pack a powerful boost to the gut. "All of the sour brews are infused with probiotics, which are great for digestion and gut health," he explained. "It's an added benefit that makes these sour beers so interesting."

The "Sour Liz" Event runs at Dacha Beer Garden's Shaw location at 1600 Street NW location through July 20. Serious beer fans can join the Dacha Beer Club, a free reward-based program. Club members can earn prizes ranging from free appetizers to brewery tours and parties for friends on Dacha's tab. Beer Club will meet every Wednesday, a traditional release day for new, rare, and exciting beers. To find out more about Beer Club, visit dachadc.com

Megadolls announced the launch of a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the startup costs for their new incarnation of a classic toy. Featuring dolls that are racially inclusive and body positive, with fun wardrobes and themes that are easily downloaded and printed, Megadolls is a growing collection that will fast become a favorite daily playtime activity with young children everywhere. The Kickstarter has a modest $20,000 goal with multiple funding rewards for donors at the $12, $20, $40, $50, $105, and $215 levels.

"Inclusivity and affordability were two major guiding principles for Megadolls," said MeGa Buitizon, Megadolls founder. "We wanted them to be easily available to children anywhere, so we're launching with a digital site first. Paper dolls were always one of the sweetest parts of my childhood, partly because I could change their outfits or hairstyles whenever I wanted to. That adds a sense of flexibility, imagination, and spontaneity to playtime, while letting children enact scenes from their favorite stories or create games to explore their imagination and creative instincts."

Megadolls: Folding Fun and Empowering Play

  • Opening collections begin with Dolls from Around the World, and the "free download of outfits per day" Shero Collection which includes dolls of all different shades, blends, and body types including hyperpigmentation, hirsutism, and missing limbs which encourage acceptance at an early age. And boy-doll collections are currently in design.
  • One subscription gives instant access to thousands of style combinations with tons of free downloads and content from the website. Simply select a doll and accessories, print them, cut them out, and have fun!
  • Easily navigated collection with monthly subscription rewards and limited-edition downloads of new dolls and accessories; change up styles every month.
  • Innovative tab-less template design allows dolls to be clothed in a simple fold-over-and-hang method, eliminating messy or difficult tabs. Each doll is fully clothed, front and back.
  • Promote interpersonal relationship building and empathy with a beautiful, bright color palette that encourages different virtues.

"We want kids to highlight differences and celebrate diversity. Which is why the collection promotes variety through elaborate customization. And we also allow children to display inner strengths, like perseverance and courage, using a unique and specific color-coded styling. These are next-generation paper dolls that will help parents reduce excessive screen-time for their children, while fostering a much more creative playtime. Our collection offers more variety and customization than any other paper doll line. And because there are always new dolls and new combinations, Megadolls guarantees a unique game every single time."

Fast Growing Masq Hard Tea Expands to Texas with L&F Distributors, Favorite Brands

Masq Hard Tea, a leader in the wellness alcohol category, announced a partnership with L&F Distributors and Favorite Brands for its distribution rights in Texas. Masq is a health forward all-natural hard tea made with premium organic ingredients and is geared toward active lifestyle consumers.

L&F Distributors / Favorite Brands will distribute Masq Hard Tea for the entire state of TX. "We couldn't be more excited to partner with L&F and Favorite in Texas. The La Mantia family has an incredible reputation in the beverage industry. Their organization is top of the line," says Masq Co-Founder Brad Parkes. "We see a huge opportunity in Texas - it's a huge tea state and a big beer state. As a lifestyle brand, Masq fits perfectly with the climate, outdoor activities, and year-round sporting events," says Masq Co-Founder BeBe Parkes.

"We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Masq Hard Tea in the state of Texas. They make an exceptional product, that aligns with the core values of today's consumer. Drinkers today overwhelmingly support "better for you" products. As a beverage distributor you want to provide the best products available to help retailers, and on-premise partners succeed with the everyday consumer. Masq Hard Tea fits that description…to a tea," replied President of Favorite Brands, Greg LaMantia.

Masq is made with functional ingredients (Organic Yerba Mate, Blue Agave Syrup, Chamomile and Passion Flower) and built for the health forward consumer. Masq is 4% ABV, 90 calories, vegan, gluten free, lightly carbonated and comes in Blueberry Lavender, Lemon Ginger, Dragon Fruit Acai and Grapefruit Rosemary. "Masq is the perfect mix of refreshment and full flavor. Most seltzers just don't have enough flavor. The ingredients are what really sets Masq apart from anything else on the shelf – we haven't found any alcohol with as many real ingredients that is so drinkable," says BeBe.

Masq is currently available in over 1800 stores and restaurants in 14 states. "We've tried to create a subsegment in alcohol – health forward or wellness alcohol - and it is really resonating with consumers, who are trying to be healthier in every other aspect of their lives, why not a better alcohol choice?"  BeBe added, "Our goal is to continue to develop consumer awareness – Masq is so different than anything on the shelves. We've continued to show that when people sample the product they rebuy, it's creating the continual awareness that is so important."

"When Masq was created, we wanted a better way to drink. There are so many 'less bad' items on the shelf – 0 carbs, no sugar, etc. but most of it is flavored water, alcohol and artificial sweeteners. We wanted something that actually uses real, beneficial ingredients," says Brad.

Masq Hard Tea is available in single flavor 4 packs in retail stores, bars and restaurants.

Peninsulas to Open New Michigan-Themed Store in Berkley

Peninsulas, a locally-owned shop and design firm celebrating all things Michigan, is expanding and deepening its roots in the state.

"Six years ago the people of Berkley welcomed us with open arms and have been unbelievably loyal and supportive ever since," says Peninsula's co-owner Robert Jameson.  "We can't think of a better place to put down permanent roots and continue to celebrate all things Michigan from our curated collection."

Jameson and his wife, Sherri Lawton Jameson, have purchased a building a few doors west of their current shop where Peninsulas has been a fixture since 2016.  The new store at 3171 Twelve Mile Road will open June 28 after extensive renovations. The new store will have an "Up North" look and feel with its original, but repainted, tile ceiling, vintage French doors, a hundred year old antique store counter and the Peninsulas shield on a brand new façade.

Peninsulas' unique collection includes high quality home goods, apparel, accessories and gifts inspired by Michigan lakes and land.  Most of the items are custom-designed by Lawton Jameson and many are Michigan made. Lawton Jameson also creates proprietary Michigan-themed designs for a variety of Michigan businesses.

From May through October, the Jamesons operate a Peninsulas location at the top of the "Tunnel of Trees" in Cross Village, plus they do a brisk business in online sales at ShopPeninsulas.com and offer Peninsula-made goods through wholesale partnerships at 75 locations around the state. The company is one of only two vendors state-wide licensed to design and offer official Michigan State Parks, Trails and Waterways merchandise.  Ten percent of all sales directly support Michigan DNR programs.

"After leasing our former location, we decided to put down even more permanent roots in Berkley, with easy access for all our customers in the region," said Jameson. "This exciting development was only possible because of our amazing team of employees, friends, family and the customers who believe in and supported our vision."

Robert and Sherri Jameson are lifelong Michiganders who created Peninsulas in 2011. When they get time off, the Jamesons tour the state in their Airstream trailer, explore Michigan Parks, dig for one-of-a-kind vintage pieces and generally find inspiration for their business everywhere they look.

Cosmic Bliss, the makers of premium, organic, plant-based and 100% grass-fed dairy frozen desserts, is excited to launch a blissfully fun challenge that benefits the planet — asking America to scream for ice cream! As a brand on a mission to flip the food system to a more organic and regenerative supply chain, Cosmic Bliss is rewarding consumers' "ice-screams" with free ice cream and donations to nonprofits supporting the research and progression of organic and regenerative farming practices.

According to a recent report, consumers are increasingly aware of the environmental impacts of food, which is encouraging, and Cosmic Bliss believes we can all do more by using real foods, from farms and from nature without relying on heavily processed, synthetic biology and "techno-food." To kick off the challenge, Cosmic Bliss took to the streets of one of the greenest cities in the U.S. — San Francisco — to surprise local residents with a fun, interactive scream experience as featured in a newly released video.

Throughout July, the purpose-driven brand is calling on consumers nationwide to join the challenge by sharing a joyous video of themselves "screaming for ice cream" and for a better planet on social media while tagging the brand (@findcosmicbliss) and using the hashtag #icecreamforabetterplanet. Every video posted with #icecreamforabetterplanet contributes toward a $50,000 donation goal to the Rodale Institute and Regenerative Organic Alliance in partnership with 1% of the Planet. In addition, one lucky fan will take home the grand prize of a year's worth of free ice cream from Cosmic Bliss (terms and conditions apply)!

"At our core, Cosmic Bliss has always been deeply committed to supporting farming systems that are healthier for humans, animals, and the planet. We believe how you source your ingredients matter. How you contribute to the regeneration of our food system matters," said Shilpa Gadhok, VP of Brand Marketing at Cosmic Bliss. "We're excited for everyone to show how much they care, have some fun, help "scream" for the attention that regenerative agriculture and organic farming deserves, while still enjoying a spoonful of bliss from the planet we all care so much about."

Regenerative agriculture is a core tenant in the brand's efforts to flip the food system. Cosmic Bliss believes that food consumption shouldn't be filled with compromises on taste, one's health or impact on the environment. All products are certified organic, gluten-free, non-gmo project verified, contain no soy, sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners. It's why Cosmic Bliss ensures they make the most delicious, indulgent frozen desserts with the highest quality ingredients in a manner that helps to regenerate the planet for future generations.

In order to drive meaningful progression in this space, Cosmic Bliss is committed to donating a minimum of one percent of their annual revenue to environmental nonprofits that further the mission, research, and education of organic and regenerative agriculture. To do so, they work with 1% for the Planet to certify donations and pair with like-minded non-profits. The company has also taken on the initiative to improve the sustainability of its packaging, as the first brand to use a plant-based biopolymer in its pint packaging since 2019, and the brand uses recycled and renewable materials across their novelty packaging. Cosmic Bliss is a member of the Sustainable Food Trade Association (SFTA), Organic Trade Association, and the Oregon Organic Coalition.
