Brevard Hispanic Center Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Two Events

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, get ready to party not just once but twice, as the Board of Directors of the Brevard Hispanic Center hosts two very different events anticipated to attract thousands of guests.

The Viva Brevard Gala will run from 6 p.m. to Midnight, Saturday, October 8, at the Red Ginger Restaurant in Melbourne Square Mall. Six outstanding community members will be honored at the festive dinner, which will include live Latin music and cultural entertainment. Sponsorships for the Viva Brevard Gala range from $1,000 to $5,500. Individual tickets are $80 per person or $150 per couple.

The party continues a week later at The Viva Brevard Festival and Business Expo. The free colorful explosion of Hispanic countries' music, sights, and tastes will run from 11 a.m. to  6 p.m., Saturday, October 15, at Fred Poppe Regional Park. There will be back-to-back musical entertainment and a vendor village offering guests a range of consumer information and opportunities.

“Both events celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and help to raise funds for the Brevard Hispanic Center,” said Al Dia Today publisher and Hispanic Center founder Javier Molinares. “We are raising funds to develop an assistive technology lab to allow visually impaired individuals to be more inclusive in the DEI discourse.”

The Brevard Hispanic Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that works to help not just Hispanics but all individuals to develop their talents and fully exercise their rights. The organization promotes multicultural integrations through services that address health, education, employment, financial, immigration, family, and housing issues. The Center hosts the English Language Integration Program, which offers free services to help overcome the hurdle of language barriers that may be hindering employment success. Educational services at the Brevard Hispanic Center also assist high school and college students in seizing the opportunities of local, national, and international scholarships to achieve their academic goals. Additionally, Brevard Hispanic Center helps the unemployed find jobs by training them to prepare for interviews, build resumes, and network with potential employers.

Brevard Hispanic Center is also home to the DelaCruz Volunteer Health Clinic, where low-income area residents without health insurance can access free health assistance. Volunteer staff, bilingual in Spanish and English, provide routine care and referrals to any uninsured individual, regardless of their cultural or ethnic background. Accessing medical care is a critical issue for many Hispanics who lack financial resources and are unfamiliar with English.

“We see patients who haven’t been to a doctor in years,” said Molinares.

For more details on Viva Brevard Gala and Festival, call 321-960-5086 or 321-327-8938. For more information on the Brevard Hispanic Center go to www.pbhispaniccenter.com.

Green Mountains Herbal and Treatment Clinic Launches Offering CONSUMMO Natural Treatment for Mental Illness and Dementia

Green Mountains Herbal and Treatment Clinic launches, offering CONSUMMO Natural Treatment for mental illness and dementia. The founder, Dr. Justin Rodwen Hill, is a certified herbalist, naturalist and nutritionist; he has successfully treated and cured numerous patients suffering from mental illnesses worldwide. He has been running the clinic since 1981 in Los Angeles and has since then, opened other clinics in the USA, UK, Switzerland, Canada, and Italy.

His natural CONSUMMO treatment restores health and saves human beings from the worst side effects of chemical-based treatments. The potency and effectiveness of the CONSUMMO product are known worldwide. He has won acclaim nationally as well as internationally for his contributions to the field of herbal medicine. He specializes in the treatment of different types of mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, OCD and panic disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and dementia.

How CONSUMMO works for Mental Illness and Dementia:

The first treatment activates detoxification, which includes flushing any insoluble toxins from the body. The supplement then proceeds to activate all cells in the body and repairs the very damaged cells, tissues, or organs of the body. The second treatment comes in liquid form and tackles the psychological aspect including hallucination, paranoia, voice hearing, depression, fear and persecutory delusion. The supplement also tackles the behavioral, mood and cognitive aspects, including aggression or anger, thought disorder, self-harm, lack of restraint, anxiety, apathy, fatigue, feeling detached, false belief of superiority or inferiority and amnesia. The third treatment is called “mental restorer;” it assumes the presence of a supernatural power to restore the natural brain order.

"With this approach, you will live a better and more fulfilled life, like realizing your full potential, working productively, making a meaningful contribution to the community and handling all the stress that comes with life. The healing and recovery process is gradual, comprehensive, holistic and very effective. I want a pleasing story of your darkness to light, weakness to strength, broken to whole," says Dr. Hill.

For Dementia patients, CONSUMMO halts the progression of the condition, helps prevent worsening of memory, and also helps treat depression, anxiety, and mood swings. It repairs all nerve cells or vessels, tissues, or organs. These medicines are of natural origin and treat Alzheimer's disease in a very safe, effective manner without any side effects. These medicines are selected individually for every case based on the symptom picture.

“While the treatment is ongoing, you must quit smoking. Quitting smoking benefits your health both immediately and in the long term. Exercise regularly. Being physically active reduces the risk of many conditions, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Keep your brain active. Try some cognitive training exercises. Eat well. Eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables. Maintain an active social life. Friendships, volunteering, and hobbies will benefit your overall health,” says Dr. Hill.

More from Dr. Justin Rodwen Hill:

“Mental illness… occurs when our mental health is compromised or neglected for so long that it affects our ability to function in everyday life. Mental illnesses are common in the United States. Nearly one in five U.S. adults lives with a mental illness. 5.8 million people in the United States have Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. The treatment for most of them mainly involves strong doses of antipsychotic drugs that blunt hallucinations and delusions with several unbearable side effects. Psychiatrists will only prescribe unending heavy doses of antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, anxiolytics, hypnotics, cognitive enhancers, and stimulants. Most patients/caregivers have extensive knowledge of this but failed to find a viable natural alternative so they go back to the usual medication doctors prescribe. The side effects can be fatigue, blurred vision, gastric disorders, headaches, dizziness, sexual dysfunction, risk of cardiac disorders, weight gain, anxiety and increased suicidal attempts. It is easy to get a thousand prescriptions, but hard to get one single remedy. The stigma attached to mental illness and dementia is very real and it causes many people to suffer in silence. While many people let their illness define them and drop anchor, I hope you choose a redefined life.

For mental illness and dementia, the recovery rate with drug therapy is under 15%. With nutritional therapy and the proper natural treatment, the recovery rate is 90%. The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician. Therefore, physicians must start from nature, with an open mind. The herbal training or knowledge was through heritage and traditional knowledge from my grandparents and formal training. My interest is borne out of sympathy for those who have a mental illness and this has transformed many families' conditions, and enhanced and expanded my spiritual practice by connecting me deeply with the earth.”

Alpha Genesis CDC Raises Funds for Tubman Statue with Engraved Bricks

Phase Two of Alpha Genesis Community Development Corp.’s brick fundraising campaign has begun with the release of a limited number of custom engraved bricks for the plaza at the Dorchester County Courthouse where a new Harriet Tubman sculpture will be installed this fall.

When Beacon of Hope, the 13-foot, bronze sculpture, is unveiled on Sept. 10, many of the newly laid bricks in the surrounding plaza, purchased in the first fundraising phase, will bear the names of former enslaved Dorchester County residents, as well as supporters who made this project possible. Additional sections of bricks, available through this second phase, will be installed at a later date, replacing plain bricks temporarily laid at the plaza.

By purchasing a commemorative brick, you can have your name or organization’s name engraved in history and be a part of Tubman’s story, providing an everlasting display of pride and commitment to the community that will endure for a lifetime. Bricks can be ordered from bricksrus.com/donorsite/harrietsjourneyhome.

Although bricks purchased in this second phase of the fundraising campaign will be installed after the sculpture unveiling, purchasing now will ensure that your permanent tribute is included in the historic site. Funds raised from the sale of the bricks support the installation and maintenance of the sculpture and the accompanying plaza and landscaping in front of the Dorchester County Courthouse.

The Day of Resilience commemoration on Sept. 10 will feature the unveiling of A “Beacon of Hope,” an inspiring 13-foot bronze sculpture of Harriet Tubman, designed and created by Wesley Wofford, the Emmy- and Academy-award winning sculptor who created the traveling Harriet statue that visited Cambridge in 2020. The unveiling, in conjunction with the bicentennial of Tubman’s birth, marks the culmination of two years of community grassroots fundraising and activities, led by Alpha Genesis, to create and install the permanent sculpture at the Dorchester County Courthouse, a place where enslaved ancestors were auctioned, and Tubman’s niece was rescued.

The bronze sculpture is rich in symbolism – from the shackles embedded in the base to its orientation northward. Likewise, the plaza on which the sculpture will stand is especially meaningful because some of the commemorative bricks will be engraved with the names of former enslaved residents of Dorchester County. Supporters can purchase a brick in their honor.

Donors also can purchase bricks that are customized to include their own family name, business name or organization’s name. Bricks can be engraved in honor of someone special; in a loved one's memory; celebration of a birth, graduation, wedding, or anniversary; or in honor of a soldier or veteran.

Bricks are available in two sizes and are priced depending on their location in the plaza. Large

8”x8” bricks are $500 or $1000. Standard size 4”x8” bricks are $200 or $300. Bricks will be sold until all

spaces are filled.

To order a brick online, visit the website at:

New River Fine Art Opens New Exhibition, “100% Cotton: New Works by Andrew Cotton” on September 15, 2022

New River Fine Art is proud to announce “100% Cotton: New Works by Andrew Cotton,” the debuting solo exhibition by Andrew Cotton. The show will feature the split-portrait portrayals that have gained the artist international recognition along with new text-based works, abstract paintings, collaged surfboards, vintage Americana, gorgeous pinups, Hollywood icons, and coastal beach scenes. The show opens on September 15, 2022 and runs through October 16, 2022.

“100% Cotton: New Works by Andrew Cotton” illuminates a resourceful artist in tune with his own artistic practices. Cotton embraces his coveted family lineage and formulaically calculates the building of his own brand with a narrower and more focused mindset to produce artwork that successfully blends pop culture, nostalgia, friendships, and kinships – a culmination where his authenticity is key for success.

As the title indicates, New River Fine Art explores the genuine and authentic story behind the artist, while showing the au courant of his work. Through the artwork, text, and gallery ephemera, we bear witness to the artist’s rise from an unknown street artist to a highly collected Contemporary fine artist. The curatorial stance briefly touches on the artist’s more formative years after he departs the U.K. to arrive in the United States to sell graffiti-inspired Pop Art on the streets of New York City, before energetically progressing to showcase his current body of work.

“As an artist, I am drawn to the free spirit of America,” says Cotton, describing his decision to move from London to New York City at 24 years old to pursue a full-time art career in the United States.

Andrew Cotton’s artwork has made tangible waves at many renowned art fairs. Previously, his signature aesthetic had caught the eye of rapper and record executive, Jay Z, who would become one of Cotton’s earliest A-List collectors. More high-caliber clients would follow as Cotton developed his mature visual voice as seen in “100% Cotton.”

For more information or high-resolution images from the exhibition, contact Gabriel Delgado, Operations Director at marketing@newriverfineart.com or by calling 954.524.2100. The gallery's website is www.newriverfineart.com.

Mecobit Brings Innovation to Photo-Voltaic Crypto Mining

Mecobit photo voltaic, a world firm with an emphasis on high-quality, inexpensive photo voltaic, proclaims product enhancements to its photo voltaic system, which power cryptocurrency miners.

Mecobit photo voltaic system clients can now use backup vitality throughout a traditional power grid outage to assist in powering home appliances, and even cryptocurrency mining rigs.

Some cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, are created by a “proof of labor,” which requires computer systems to “mine” the crypto by solving complicated puzzles. Powering these computer systems includes massive quantities of electrical energy. Bitcoin is notorious for using sufficient electrical energy to add 40 million tons of carbon dioxide to the environment a year. Now, a rising cadre of miners worldwide are creating inexperienced, and profitable, new methods to mine their crypto.

Mecobit gives distinctive incentives in Cryptocurrency mining, which propel operations to leverage the most affordable energy possible and encourage extra operations worldwide to transform to renewable vitality sources, like photo voltaic.

Northern Virginia Community College Student Selected to Participate in NASA Virtual Experience

NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) selected Hailey Boyd of Ashburn to attend the NCAS Virtual Experience from August 3–9, 2022.

Ms. Boyd’s successful completion of a five-week online NCAS course earned her a spot to participate in the NCAS Virtual Experience. Boyd is one out of hundreds of community college students from across the country to participate in the virtual experience.

Selected community college students learn more about NASA’s missions and careers in science and engineering throughout the virtual experience. Students form teams and design a mission to explore the Moon or Mars. Each student team joins a design team, fulfills a team role, manages a budget, and develops communication and outreach strategies. Students also attend events hosted by NASA subject matter experts, receive information on how to apply for NASA internships, and virtually tour NASA’s unique facilities during the event.

With this activity, NASA continues the tradition of engaging the nation in its mission of human exploration and sustainable expansion across the solar system and bringing new knowledge and opportunities back to Earth.

“NCAS inspires community college students to advance in STEM fields, and it also opens doors for future careers at NASA. NCAS alumni can often move on to NASA internships and possibly ultimately enter the NASA workforce. It is rewarding to see the progression of a student from NCAS participant to NASA colleague,” said Torry Johnson, Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP) Manager.

For additional information, please contact NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars by email at JSC-NCAS@mail.nasa.gov or by phone at (281) 244-7029. For more information, visit: go.nasa.gov/ncas.
