Swell Botanics, a floral design studio specializing in botanical experiences for weddings, events, and special occasions, today announced its participation in this year’s Holiday Shopping Bazaar in the Stacks hosted by The Charleston Library Society, the third-oldest subscription library in the U.S. The Charleston Library Society serves its members, scholars, and the Lowcountry community through access to its rich collection of books, historic manuscripts, archival material, and programs like the holiday wreath workshop.
Swell Botanics will host two holiday wreath-building workshops on December 7th at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at The Charleston Library Society located at 164 King Street, Charleston, SC 29401. During the workshops students will learn to source materials, organize, and build a fresh and festive holiday wreath. Patrons will have access to an assortment of the freshest, most fragrant holiday greens, other supporting seasonal elements, and a collection of gorgeous holiday ribbons.
The workshops will be hosted by Courtney Kelly, founder of Swell Botanics. Courtney has over a decade of experience hand-crafting large-scale installations, personal bouquets, and everything in between. Courtney has been called “a true romantic” who has “hands of the earth” for work that is “whimsical, ethereal, and unique.” Clients include Christie’s Auction House, the Smithsonian, Newleaf Telluride, The Post House, private residences, and more.
Each year, the Charleston Library Society hosts over 200 events, ranging from author lectures and concerts to book clubs, children’s programs, and galas. This year’s holiday bazaar will feature local artists and vendors including May Cabas, Goldbug Collection, and Arzberger Stationers, among others.
A portion of all proceeds will be donated to One Tree Planted.
